Babcock collected two major industry awards at the Network Rail Partnership Awards, held in the Imperial War Museum in Cambridge on the 14 June, winning the Best Medium Project of the Year Award for Boston to Skegness and the highly prestigious Supplier of the Year Award.
The Network Rail Partnership Awards provide an occasion to reward and recognise excellence and best practice in the rail industry and conclude with the presentation of the Supplier of the Year Award, presented to the organisation that has delivered exceptional performance and outstanding effort.
“We were delighted to be presented with the award for the Best Medium Project for our work on the Boston to Skegness track renewals campaign. This is a huge achievement and congratulations go to the London North Eastern track team and all those who supported the delivery of record breaking performance levels on this project,” said Robert Whiley, Managing Director at Babcock’s Rail business.
At the end of the evening, the prestigious Supplier of the Year award was announced by Network Rail’s Chief Executive, David Higgins and Babcock was delighted to be named as the winner.
Robert said, “It was a real honour and privilege to collect the Supplier of the Year Award on behalf of the team at Babcock and made me very proud our achievements. This award is a fantastic success and truly recognises all the hard work and effort from everyone in the company.”
In addition to these two awards, Babcock was also one of the companies who received a Special Award for the Commercial Directors Forum, a Network Rail led Forum in which Bobby Forbes, Commercial Director of the Rail business, plays a key role along with Network Rail’s supply chain partners.
“We are very proud and delighted with these awards as they represent a major milestone in the growth and success of our business”.
