Delivering expertise in baggage handling solutions

Babcock provides technical expertise in baggage processing, operational knowledge and specialist engineering skills to customers.

We employ over 1,000 skilled personnel with experience in baggage system design, control systems development, operations, maintenance – processing 160,000 bags each day.

Creating customised solutions, we deliver:

  • Consultancy, design, installation and management of complex baggage systems
  • Expert advisory services in improving and updating existing baggage systems
  • The most appropriate range of equipment - supplied by the Babcock product portfolio or other specialist equipment providers

Transforming Ground Support Equipment (GSE) performance

Working in partnership with our customers, we ensure that their fleet of vehicles and specialist equipment are available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. 

Our proven GSE capability covers:

  • Entire or part fleet management including specialist equipment or vehicles
  • Modern on–site workshops and highly skilled engineers
  • Specification and procurement of GSE to standardise and leverage better terms
  • Customised solutions using telematics and data driven evidence to optimise fleet performance

Babcock manages and maintains over 17,000 assets for airports across the world including Alitalia and Heathrow Airport - ranging from passenger buses to 70-tonne aircraft pushback tractors. Our skilled engineers provide on-going preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs at on-site airside workshops. 

Delivering expertise in integrated Airport IT solutions

Our proven approach to Airport IT systems helps to reduce complexity and duplication - enabling operators to effectively process passengers at minimum time and cost.

We design, build and install data integration systems and work closely with the customer to ensure operations work seamlessly across multiple systems - incorporating critical information such as flight display boards, CCTV security cameras and e-gates.

Babcock currently operates extensive IT systems at Europe’s 4th largest airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, where the team supports various ICT systems including 2,500 flight display screens, 2,000 cameras and 80 electronic staff access gates.
