Babcock has over 30 years of experience providing Aerial Emergency Services in France for the Urgent Medical Aid Service (SAMU). Every year, our helicopters help more than 13,000 people in critical conditions.
Babcock is also involved in a number of large projects which have helped to strengthen the position of the company as a leader in aircraft maintenance. The Helidax partnership is a prime example; this contract involved the provision of 20,000 flight hours per year for the initial training of French Army Pilots.
Finally, Babcock is also supporting the helicopter fleets of the Sécurité Civile and Gendarmerie Nationale and base maintenance of the French Ministry of Defence. In December 2016 France’s Direction Générale de l’Armement awarded Babcock a contract to provide and maintain a training platform and related services for the French Air Force (l'Armée de l'Air).
The 11-year FOMEDEC contract will provide 17 new training aircraft (Pilatus PC-21), related simulators and modernised training facilities for the training of fighter jet crews.
