Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health & Safety Awards:
  • Babcock's Airports business was awarded the RoSPA Order of Distinction, recognising 15 consecutive Gold Awards for occupational health and safety (2016)
  • A RoSPA Gold Medal award was won by Babcock's Media Services business (2016 - 8th consecutive Gold Award)
  • Babcock subsidiary, Cavendish Nuclear, also won a RoSPA Gold Medal award (2016 - 6th consecutive award) and a Gold Award for Fleet Safety
  • RoSPA Gold awards were won by Babcock's Critical Services team at Bardon, the Infrastructure business and Babcock's subsidiary, Cavendish Nuclear (2015)
  • Babcock's Communications Infrastructure business won a Gold Medal award (2014 - 6th consecutive year)
  • A RoSPA Silver award was presented to HM Naval Base Clyde (Babcock/MoD/Royal Navy) in 2013
British Safety Council

In the British Safety Council's (BSC) International Safety Award Scheme, Babcock scooped a collection of awards recognising our operations at:

  • Babcock Rosyth recieved its 10th prestigious Sword of Honour award from the British Safety Council for exemplary management of health and safety risks at the site. (2016)
  • Dounreay - through Babcock's joint venture, the Cavendish Dounreay Partnership (Distinction award 2016)
  • Babcock's Media Services business received a Merit Award (2016), and was named as the overall Sector Award winner in the 'Financial, IT, Legal, Scientific, Technical Services and Media' sector
  • Our Skills & Learning operations at Beckton and Park Royal (London - emergency services training), the Milton Keynes Technical Academy (automotive training), plus our Engineering and Workplace Skills & Guidance operations spanning multiple sites, all received Merit Awards (2016)
  • Babcock's Civil Infrastructure business won a Merit award (2016)
  • Magnox - Wylfa site - through our joint venture, the Cavendish Fluor Partnership (Merit award 2015)
  • Our Rosyth site was presented with the BSC's 'Sword of Honour' for the eighth year in a row (2013)

Babcock Canada has received two prestigious awards for their commitment to mentorship and skills development:

  • In May 2016, Darryl Hansen, Chief Engineer - Governance, won The Paddy O'Donnel Award for Mentorship from the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries.
  • In June 2016, Babcock Canada won the Co-op Employer of the Year award from Camosun College in Victoria, BC.
