  • Name:Jazmine Porri

  • Sector:Land

What is your current role?

Supply Chain Management Apprentice

What GCSE’s did you take at school?

Maths, Science, English Literature, English Language and ICT, French, History, Art and Textiles (GCSEs).

What were you interested in growing up and did this impact your choice in becoming an apprentice/graduate?

Growing up I was always changing what I wanted to be and couldn’t settle on anything! This is why I think the I&RM apprenticeship has suited me so well as the 3 month rotations give me the opportunity to find the section that I enjoy most and wish to progress on.

What’s your favourite thing about working for Babcock?

Working at Babcock I enjoy all the different sections that I&RM contains. It really helps you and definitely benefits you in getting a real understanding of the business and how each section can impact another.

Where do you want to take your career within Babcock?

Once I have finished my apprenticeship I hope to begin with a permanent role at Babcock in a section I feel I have excelled in. I then hope that I can progress up through to chain and hopefully end up at senior level.

What would your advice be to school students choosing GCSEs and thinking of options for the future?

If you don’t choose a subject you enjoy you won’t excel in them. So do yourself a favour and pick for you and not what you think everyone else wants to pick or what you think you should pick.
