Early Years Care

Early Years Care employees provide care, education and support for children in a range of regulated settings. They work with children who have a range of abilities and needs, providing learning and play opportunities. The sector is dynamic, and requires a workforce of highly committed and skilled employees. Government legislation requires that childcare facilities meet guidelines to ensure that all employees hold, or are working towards the appropriate care qualifications.

Working in early years care requires a range of personal qualities such as an enthusiasm for working with children, an interest in their development and welfare, creativity and imagination, and the ability to support children’s personal rights, dignity and privacy. Whether already employed in the sector or just embarking on your career, you will be doing a job that makes a difference to the quality of life for children, young people and their families.

An Early Years Care apprenticeship will provide you with a thorough understanding of how to design educational and recreational activities, avoid conflicts, handle difficult situations and understand the unique relationship that childcare workers can have with the children in their care. Babcock offers the following Early Years Care apprenticeships:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Children & Young People’s Workforce (Early Years Care)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Learning and Development (Early Years Educator)
