Babcock Mission Critical Services starts Oil and Gas operations in Africa
Babcock has started operations in the African continent providing offshore helicopter transportation services in Ghana to ENI, from the on-shore base to the drilling ship. Babcock provides personnel transportation services 7 days a week and medical evacuation operations on request 24/7.
The decision of ENI choosing Babcock as partner in Ghana reflects the great experience of its pilots, the maintenance world-class capability and the logistic organization allows Babcock to safely deliver critical services with excellent quality even in hostile environments.
Babcock MCS Ghana is not the outcome of a fixed term project, it is the starting point for long lasting relationship between Babcock and the Ghanaian culture, the full achievement can only be reached through an organic integration in the country transferring technology and know how to local people.
To deliver its mission, Babcock is currently scouting several local profiles to be trained and integrated in the Ghanaian company. This will allow building a solid and permanent relationship and settling the basis for a durable and sustainable growth in the country.
Supporting ENI in Mozambique
Also, Babcock has recently started operations for ENI in Mozambique. The contract has a length of 6 years with an extension option. Operations base is located in Pemba (Cabo Delgado province) from which a regime flow of more than 1.000 passengers per month is expected.
The helicopter in use is a brand new AW139 operated and maintained by Babcock MCS Italia, which is also used for emergency missions for the energy community. An additional helicopter will entry service in 2016. Babcock MCS Mozambique, which is certified pursuant local air regulations, also operates one helicopter AS350-B2 for General Aviation and Passenger Transportation purposes.
