Babcock MCS España transports passengers, equipment, and materials by helicopter to Repsol oil and gas rigs around the Mediterranean, as well as providing emergency health services.
Babcock MCS España began working with Repsol in the area back in 1976.
Since then, we’ve helped Repsol to develop its business in Spain, Morocco, Libya, Mauritania and Lanzarote.
We provide a seamless service in challenging environments, from some of the most hostile areas of the Sahara to maritime areas, while maintaining our fundamental quality and safety standards.
In 2014, we needed to move all personnel working on board the Rowan Renaissance ship, which was exploring for hydrocarbons on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
We provided two AW 139 helicopters, based in Lanzarote, each aircraft with a capacity for 12 passengers alongside two crew members. The helicopters also acted as air ambulances in case of emergency.
Forefront of helicopter transport
Through tight organisation and scheduling, along with high levels of training and helicopter maintenance, we fulfilled all flights for Repsol.
And we successfully managed two night-time medical evacuations, with positive results for the injured.
Over time, we’ve strengthened our relationship with Repsol and will continue to be at the forefront of providing helicopter transport and emergency services to the oil and gas industry.
- Operating and maintaining 3 AW 139 helicopters including one as back-up
- Transporting over 5,700 people annually
- Flying more than 1,000 hours a year to supply the oil and gas industry
"Babcock MCS España’s great organisation meant they met all contracted services with no flight suspension. They also carried out excellent work in two urgent medical evacuations."
