Babcock MCS Onshore provides, operates and maintains helicopters for specialist Air Ambulance and Police support roles across the UK and in Ireland. As well as providing helicopters, Babcock MCS Onshore also creates aircraft capability for mission critical and lifesaving roles by designing interiors and installing state of the art equipment.

We also provide specialist hoisting operations for the offshore wind industry, with aircraft which can winch passengers down onto offshore wind turbines. Babcock MCS Onshore operates an extensive and modern fleet of light twin helicopters custom designed to perform specific and specialised tasks.

It operates from 22 bases around the UK and in Ireland. We have two major maintenance facilities, Staverton and Glasgow. Bond Training Services provide world-class training facilities for pilots and crew, with a dedicated advanced simulator facility.

Our customers

Babcock MCS Onshore operates 23 helicopters, including 18 air ambulance helicopters from 22 bases around the UK and in Ireland. We provide helicopter services for 10 air ambulance charities and the Scottish Ambulance Service. We operate a police support helicopter for Police Scotland and also provide helicopter support for the renewables industry.

Babcock MCS Onshore forges long-term customer relationships based on working in partnership and an ability to explore a range of innovative ownership and finance models to match with individual requirements.

By working in partnership with our customers and aircraft manufacturers our extensive helicopter operations provide lifesaving support and protection for communities across the UK.

Our Design and Completions service creates bespoke aircraft and accessories designed for highly specialised and mission-critical roles – from transporting infants to operating on live high-voltage wires. Our design teams have extensive experience in creating the right aircraft for a range of complex and mission-critical roles.

Our state of the art training facility includes a full-motion EC135 training simulator (Level III FTD) together with a first-class training and classroom environment. Our trainers have been providing all levels of pilot training since 2005.

Babcock MCS Onshore was the first operator to provide night Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with East Anglian Air Ambulance charity in 2013. We are working with our customers to introduce this specialist service to other areas of the UK.
