Operations with local community engagement, impact assessments, and development programs
We want to have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, to be a good neighbour and contribute to the local economy through social value initiatives.
Our community engagement approach aims to ensure we are a good neighbours by supporting the communities who live alongside and work with us whilst positively contributing to society’s progress overall. For example:
Marine and Cavendish Nuclear currently engage our communities through annual “Local Liaison Committees”. These are a requirement for their nuclear licenced sites, with an agenda focussed on that subject.
In the Aviation sector, community engagement is at BU / contract level rather than Sector. Sites tends to be at airports and Helicopters and Emergency Services is actively engaged with local hospitals. Firefighting are actively engagement for the betterment of local environment.
In the Land sector the defence sites are MOD owned and they would engage with communities.

Operations with significant actual and potential negative impacts on local communities
Maintaining and enhancing biodiverse ecosystems is a fundamental aspect of our Environmental Strategy and we aim to ensure we preserve and enhance natural capital. Our local environmental specialists ensure that environmental considerations are embedded throughout our operations and our impacts are minimised.
