Showcasing our engineering capabilities at Devonport

We were delighted to host senior representatives from the Ministry of Defence at Devonport recently as we presented an overview of our engineering capabilities across the marine sector and our wider contribution to UK engineering.

Led by Babcock’s Ian Cowper, Engineering and Assurance Director- Support and Neil Young, Engineering & Technology Director – Marine Engineering & Systems; the session showcased some of the innovations and technologies being deployed during support to our customers assets, as well as providing an excellent opportunity to collaboratively promote the engineering profession.

Ian Cowper said: ‘The engineering capability roadshow gave us the opportunity to provide practical demonstrations, hold one to one discussions and exchange ideas with our customer.

“This is just a starter event to promote the capabilities we are implementing through our design and build programmes and our wider in service support portfolio with a strong emphasis on our people and the work we do with the Authority. It also helped to highlight the professions we employ to support our customer, our diversity and inclusion networks, STEM engagement and our graduate and apprentice programmes.

“It was great to provide further insight to our customer on how we work as an integrated organisation and the people behind some of the capabilities, enabling the success of the programmes.”
