We’ve signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Roke Manor Research (Roke) to develop and deliver complex next-generation information, communications and sensing systems for UK defence and national security.
Under the MoU, we will work together to develop solutions for upcoming UK Ministry of Defence programmes. The focus will be on complex information, cyber and sensing projects where sovereign control over data, engineering and future development is essential to operational resilience.
Our capabilities span applied research and experimentation, systems engineering, test and integration, delivery at scale and through-life support. The MoU will bring together the depth of expertise needed to move systems from operational experimentation into scalable, supported, deployable capabilities, ensuring technology delivers results in the most complex environments.
We will contribute world-class sovereign expertise in land platform systems integration, connecting capabilities and communications, training and support, underpinned by a longstanding relationship with the UK’s Armed Forces.
Roke provides advanced technology solutions to make platforms, sensors, networks, software and data work for the people who need it most across demanding environments, bringing systems engineering and secure communications expertise with through-life delivery capability.
Together, we will work shoulder-to-shoulder with customers, industry partners and suppliers, combining the best capability, end user insight and experience to collectively solve challenging missions faster than any one organisation.
Louise Atkinson, Chief Executive of our Land and Mission Systems business, said: “Warfare is changing and operational advantage depends on how well people, technology, information and operations are connected across every domain. We’re pleased to be partnering with Roke to accelerate innovation to offer critical sovereign capabilities for use in increasingly contested environments.”
Marc Overton, Managing Director, Roke said: “There is often a gap between what technology can demonstrate and what defence organisations have the confidence to field, scale and sustain. Roke has spent decades solving complex mission challenges through advanced engineering and operationally proven technology. Together with Babcock, we can help customers bridge that confidence gap across larger and more ambitious programmes, combining innovation, integration and support to deliver sovereign capabilities that create lasting operational advantage.”
