We’ve signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ultra PCS, a company providing electronics for military platforms, to develop a Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) solution to meet the needs of the British Army based on the mature UltraEAK® (Electronic Architecture Kit) product.
UltraEAK® is a modular hardware and software solution that implements mission systems onboard new and legacy military land vehicles. This collaboration will deliver a modular and scalable GVA software solution that supports today’s customer requirements while enabling affordable capability development to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
Together with Ultra PCS, we’ve successfully integrated the UltraEAK® system onto a number of platforms, with a focus towards the UK’s Land Mobility Programme that will deliver a fleet of modernised, digitally enabled and adaptable protected mobility and utility platforms, to meet demands now and in the future.
Speaking at DSEI UK 25 Chris Spicer, Babcock’s Managing Director for Engineering & Systems Integrations, said: “Our partnership with Ultra PCS is another example of how we identify and embed best-in-class solutions into military platforms for the British Army. Whether incorporated into a Babcock General Logistics Vehicle or forming part of a system that mounts the 120mm mortar onto a Jackal H-MTV, UltraEAK® plays a vital role in platform performance and operational effectiveness.
“Together, we are enhancing UK sovereign capability by combining Ultra PCS’s proven expertise in electronic architecture with Babcock’s deep integration know-how, delivering trusted technology through a focused and effective collaboration.”
Ben Sutton, Vice President, Ultra PCS, added: “We’re excited to announce our collaboration with Babcock to further develop UltraEAK for the British Army.
“This collaboration will not only help develop the technical solution to meet the evolving challenges faced by the British Army, but also enables us to continue to invest in engineering jobs that underpin our sovereign capability.”
