Tackling climate change

In 2024, we were proud to be one of the first international defence organisations to gain validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for our science-based near and long-term emissions reduction targets aligned with reaching net-zero no later than 2050.
Sustainability in action
Our state-of-the-art, carbon-neutral facility in South Australia opened in October 2024. The defence maintenance and manufacturing facility features a range of sustainable technologies such as solar array, ground water harvesting, electric vehicle charging stations, energy saving lighting and intelligent controls.

Following a successful trial, we’ve added six Electrically Assisted Vehicles (EAVs) to the fleet at our Devonport facility.

We are working with the British Army to understand how electric vehicle (EV) propulsion can be applied in the defence environment.

We are proud signatories of the MOD Defence Aviation Net Zero Charter, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability in our own operations and to collaborating with our customers and industry partners in achieving common goals.
We are working in partnership with UK-based SMEs: CFS Aero, Zero Petroleum, Delta Cosworth and Uplift 360 to explore emerging technologies that could minimise the environmental impact of light aircraft flying training.
