Protecting the natural environment

We engage with a diverse range of habitats across our global operations. We believe that thriving ecosystems are the foundation of a resilient planet and healthy society. We’re working to protect, preserve and enhance the natural environments in the areas we are present to create lasting ecological and social value for our communities and future generations.
Our efforts are guided by global drivers which introduce targets for businesses to assess their interactions with nature. We are actively exploring new disclosure regimes including the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), applying the Locate, Evaluate, Assess and Prepare (LEAP) framework across our key estates and assets to better understand and address nature-related risks and opportunities.
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of environmental management across all operations. We ensure the protection of the environment through the implementation of environmental management systems across our sites that also support the identification and implementation of a range of environmental improvements.
Sustainability in action
At our Devonport facility, the environmental working group have explored and successfully implemented several nature-based improvements outside the Henley building such as a wildflower meadow and green wall.

Our Local Environmental Working Groups and Be Kind volunteering activities include litter picking, river clearing, habitat restoration and beach cleans that are making a positive difference to the local environment.
We have partnered Bristol Avon Rivers Trust and so far colleagues have donated 315 hours volunteering in support of balsam bashing, river restoration and clearing.
We’ve also been volunteering with the South-West Peatland Partnership on Dartmoor, to increase the water table and to provide conditions for new peat to generate.
