Devonport Open Days

Devonport Open Days 2026

In July 2026 thousands of visitors attended our Devonport Open Days in partnership with the Royal Navy, as we opened the gates of our co-located Devonport site for a second consecutive year.

An estimated 15,000 people visited across the two-day event, which included a dedicated family day for employees and a public open day, offering a rare opportunity to step behind the walls of one of the UK’s most strategically important naval bases.

Highlights included interactive displays, presentations, hands-on STEM experiences, river rides, exhibitions from local partners and charities, and the chance to step aboard Royal Navy vessels.

The open days provide an opportunity for the local community to gain a greater understanding of the work carried out at Devonport and the critical role it plays in supporting the UK’s armed forces and national security. As home to the deep maintenance and refit of the Royal Navy’s nuclear-powered submarines, Devonport is central to maintaining the Continuous At Sea Deterrent (CASD) and supporting frontline naval capability.

The event also placed a strong focus on inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists and technologists. Through a range of STEM-focused activities and demonstrations, young people explored the diverse career pathways available within defence and engineering. Developing this future talent pipeline remains essential to supporting critical defence programmes and sustaining capability for decades to come.
