Babcock Successfully Re-Certifies for Carbon Trust Standard
We are delighted to announce that, for the third time since 2010, Babcock International Group has achieved certification to the Carbon Trust Standard for all of its UK operations. This is great recognition for our achievements in carbon reduction and demonstrates our commitment to reducing carbon emissions year on year.
The Group has achieved an absolute reduction in carbon emissions of 2% and a 9% reduction against the benchmark of tonnes CO2 per £m turnover in the last 2 years. It’s also worth noting that the Carbon Trust Standard assesses more than just energy use. It also takes into consideration flights & business transport, which is a key area in which we’ve looked to reduce our impact.
All of this despite the fact that Babcock is now a significantly larger business than it was in 2010; this renewed certification further demonstrates our commitment to the reduction of business impact on the environment, and to our belief in the need for/validity of third party regulatory evaluations.
We’re incredibly proud of this certification and keen to continue with the high environmental standards that it demonstrates. Our Carbon Trust certification is not only good for the planet; it adds credibility to the very thing which underpins our brand. Babcock is, in all ways, Trusted to Deliver.
