Babcock MCS Portugal provides mission-critical helicopter support for a range of services including Emergency Medical (EMS), civil protection operations, firefighting and aerial work. The company has a team of 82 people, mostly pilots and maintenance technicians. Its headquarters is located in Salemas heliport, the first to be certified for 24-hour operation by Portuguese Civil Aviation.
In addition, Babcock MCS Portugal has the first accreditation as ATO (Approved Training Organization) of the Iberian Peninsula, which enabled them to train pilots from across Europe, especially in night flight, an experience that has been forwarded to night operations in Spain.

Babcock MCS Portugal is specialized in medical emergency and civil protection, operating since 2000 for the National Health Service (INEM). With a fleet of 13 aircraft, they operate in Portugal, four annual bases, four Agusta A109 Power, based at Salemas Heliport, Macedo de Cavaleiros, Beja/Loulé and Santa Comba Dão.

In 2013, the company was awarded a new contract for INEM due to its extensive experience in H24 emergency medical services and its technical capacity. The new service has four HEMS bases available 24 hours a day, reinforcing the existing emergency medical operation in Portugal.

Also, Babcock MCS Portugal is one of the main operators in the country for firefighting. For this campaign 10 aircraft were deployed (8 medium helicopters and 2 Canadair CL215 airplanes) for the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC).
