Ruth Cairnie visits Devonport

Our Chair, Ruth Cairnie, has visited our Devonport site in Plymouth, UK, to see first-hand some of the vital work being delivered across our operations.

Devonport is Western Europe’s largest naval support site and Ruth’s visit was an opportunity for her to meet with employees and to view the facilities at the site.

Ruth met members of our diversity and inclusion network, trade union representatives and those in early careers, before completing a tour of the four-mile-long site. During the tour she was shown around Devonport’s Frigate Support Complex to see the important part we play in the life extension of the Royal Navy’s Type 23 Frigates. 10 Dock was the next stop on the tour, which is one of a series of major infrastructure projects underway across Devonport to ensure the capability of the site meets the evolving requirements of the UK’s Royal Navy’s fleet of the future.

Dominic Kieran, Chief Executive – Nuclear, who hosted the visit, said: “This visit was a great opportunity to share with Ruth some of the remarkable work we deliver and to reinforce the strong, trusting relationships we are continuing to build with our customers – creating a safe and secure world, together.”
