Training Approach

Training Design and Delivery

Babcock’s team of designers and trainers design and deliver immersive and engaging training experiences that positively deliver behavioural change and performance improvement. The programmes are designed to meet our customers’ needs and are accredited to national and international standards.

By using a combination of trainers both directly employed by Babcock and seconded from our client, we can ensure that we are providing trainers that have the currency and competency to deliver high quality training. All trainers and their courses are subject to a procedure of Total Quality Assurance (TQA), the results of which are regularly reported back to our customer as part of our robust Management Information System. In addition Babcock uses blended learning, incorporating creative and innovative e-Learning packages, to deliver competent staff back to operational duty, whilst also achieving efficiency savings in time and money and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Within London Fire Training we have a number of examples where we have designed and developed training courses to meeting the needs of our customer.

Firefighter Development Training

Babcock designed and developed a new 11-week blended delivery learning programme taking trainees from a member of the public to fully competent fire fighter ready to join their designated Watch.

The outcomes of this improved design and blended learning approach include:

  • 91% of delegates passed their theoretical assessments with a score of over 80%
  • Efficiency savings of over 2800 training days per annum
  • 97% of courses delivered with no delegate issues
  • 24/7 access to the most up to date legislatively compliant learning materials.

Executive Leadership Training

Babcock drew together specialist sector knowledge with leadership development best practice to develop a programme aimed specifically at senior leaders with several years of management experience or those new to a significant leadership role wanting to take the organisation forward through their leadership. To maximise learning outcomes at minimal disruption to delegates’ day-to-day responsibilities, the 18-month programme comprises both scheduled and self-generated learning opportunities. Upon completion of the programme, participants will have achieved Institute of Leadership & Management Level 7 accreditation.

Training Management

Babcock has the capability to deliver a full training management service from Supply Chain Management to scheduling complex training requirements; maintaining critical operational staffing levels to maximising the use of training resources, we can use our expertise in training so you can focus on your frontline delivery.
