We work closely with our clients in the UK and internationally to develop technical solutions and designs. Our engineering support services include Concept Engineering (Pre-FEED, Feasibility and Technical Analyses), FEED, Basic, Detail and Production Design, and Project Management and Commissioning Support for new build, conversions and in-service vessels.

Our Engineering team has more than 500 Engineers and Designers across the UK, including Rosyth, HMNB Clyde, Devonport and Bristol. The key differentiator of the Engineering team is our in-house development of our capabilities and the application of technology and innovation to improve the pace of clients’ projects and challenges. Babcock also has the capacity and skillset to deliver large and complex ship designs across sectors.

In-service support and new build

Babcock’s Engineers thrive on providing solutions to the most complex problems that our clients can provide – whether it is engineering the hull of Shell’s Prelude FLNG project at 300,000 tonnes, or the Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers at 65,000 tonnes.

We provide our clients with knowledge and expertise to meet their criteria, through use of our experienced Engineers and Technicians. We specialise in all types of complex marine vessels, such as aircraft carriers and other Naval platforms, Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units, heavy lift ships, deep sea mining vessels, gas carriers, Floating, Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), gas to power solutions and other bespoke vessels.

To complement our technical expertise, we use our experience in project managing large complex projects to provide a complete delivery solution to our customers through internal skillsets, collaboration and technology application – providing a single partner solution to delivery.
