Technology: at the core of everything we do

Technology underpins everything we do at Babcock, but it’s our proven ability to innovate, implement and integrate our technology solutions for our customers that makes us leaders in our field. We seek to drive and deliver innovation in every aspect of our work. We add value by blending technology with deep engineering expertise across our four Sectors: Land, Marine, Aviation and Nuclear.
With our reputation for highly skilled engineering support we are able to identify, understand and integrate new technologies for our customers.  In Spain, our collaboration with Indra involving the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Lua concept is pioneering in its ability to identify and combat outbreaks of forest fire.

In our Land Defence Training business we have introduced a new training programme with practical technology insertions to enable a more realistic and engaging learning environment.

In our Marine Sector we have developed a specially adapted building known as the Connected Facility to allow us to identify new, smarter ways that we can support our customers. As we look to the future, our long-term relationships with academic and educational establishments strengthen our partnerships with industry and business. Through our newly formed Prosperity Partnership launched with the Engineering and Physical Research Council we will work together with the University of Strathclyde exploring how technology and scientific research can make our nuclear assets safer and more reliable. Core to the success of our business is our people and engineering is not a ‘one size fits all’ career. When our graduates and apprentices join our business they are encouraged to shape their own future so they can fulfil their true potential - and they’ll be supported at every turn. Read more about career paths at Babcock for our graduates and apprentices on our Careers page.
