We provide tailored equipment support to our customers, enabling them to experience high levels of readiness and significantly reducing risk of failure. Our expertise in providing aircraft maintenance, management and essential ground-based support for critical assets provides a value-added service to our customers and allows them to focus on their core capabilities.
Babcock provides a Mil Part 145 maintenance organisation delivering aircraft engineering support to the UK MOD Hawk TMk1 and TMk2 fleets. We maintain the aircraft and ensure availability for their role in fast-jet pilot training at RAF Valley, and operational training support at RAF Leeming, RNAS Culdrose and RNAS Yeovilton.
Our innovative approach to Hawk TMk2 maintenance scheduling resulted in a 60% reduction in depth maintenance time. We also provide all depth maintenance and significant component maintenance repair for the RAF’s Tucano aircraft, reducing the through-life cost of the fleet and ensuring the best availability for the training task.
One task, one team
Not only do we deliver tangible results, we build long term relationships with our customers and suppliers; it’s just part of the way we do business. We’re proud to work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including BAE systems and engine manufacturer Rolls Royce to provide through-life maintenance of complex assets such as the Hawk fleets.
We are also proud to have supported the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), through our subsidiary Airwork, since its formation over 50 years ago. Throughout that period we have maintained many of the RAFO’s front-line and training aircraft, and provided the associated logistic support.
Through our joint venture AirTanker, we provide the RAF’s Strategic Tanker Aircraft Voyager, delivering front line air-to-air refuelling and air transport. In addition to our construction of a state-of-the-art facility at RAF Brize Norton, we also manage and maintain the aircraft’s ground support equipment as well as communications IT systems.
